We are hiring a Project Manager to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. This is a full-time, in-person position.
Responsible for the planning, coordination, execution, control, and completion of projects, the Project Manager ensures consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals. Additionally, the Project Manager is the primary client contact, building and maintaining effective client relationships to enhance CESSCO’s position as an industry leader and supplier of choice.
There is a technical aspect to this position, so the ability to read and interpret data sheets, fabrication drawings, specifications, and contracts as well as apply algebraic and geometric concepts while performing calculations for discounts, margins, percentages, area, and circumference is a necessity.
This is a project management position and so interpersonal and management skills such as excellent written and spoken communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills are a requirement.
We're looking for someone with at least 3 - 5 years of experience in project management, engineering, or fabrication, preferably designing or project managing pressure vessels.
We require all candidates have at least a High School Diploma, but a degree in Engineering, Management, Project Management, or Technology would be considered an asset.

Duties
Primary Responsibilities
- Working with clients, internal sales, quality and production teams to ensure project is completed to client specifications, within budget and on time.
- Building and maintaining effective client relationships.
- Managing project deliverables from pre-fabrication through to close-out phase.
- Coordinating the project team, including work planning, risk mitigation and cost control.
- Planning and preparing schedules and milestones that monitor progress against established schedules.
- Reviewing all documents provided by client to ensure clarity of deliverables by production team.
- Monitor and negotiate revisions, changes, additions and deletions to contractual agreements with external and internal clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Follow and continuously improve working guidelines, process standardization and internal policies and procedures.
- Facilitate project team kick-off meetings.
- Comply with all company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in strategic planning and business development efforts as required.
- Represent the company in technical meetings and customer discussions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in engineering processes and documentation.
- Perform any other duties, responsibilities, or tasks as assigned by the General Manager to meet business objectives.

Education & Experience
- High School Diploma
- College or University Degree in Engineering, Management, Project Management or Technology an asset.
- 3-5 years of project management, engineering or fabrication experience.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- 2-3 years experience designing or project managing pressure vessels is a definite asset.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as data sheets, fabrication drawings, standards and specifications, purchase orders, terms and conditions and other contractual documents.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively to clients and production team.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, margins, percentages, area, and circumference.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to manage issues requiring problem resolution or conflict management.
- Ability to interpret and understand a variety of instructions in written, oral, technical drawing or schedule form.
Computer Skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills needed, especially in Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Projects or other project management applications an asset.
Physical Demands
- Ability to regularly required to sit, stand, walk, touch materials with hands, talk and listen.
- Ability to occasionally lift 10 – 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, outside weather conditions and noise. Wear and use of proper personal protective equipment is required.
