Cessco Fabrication & Engineering Ltd.

Our Story

With the discovery of oil in Leduc in 1947, the pressure vessel fabrication and services industry was born in Alberta. CESSCO came into being in 1948 as Sparling Davis. Shortly thereafter the name was changed to Canadian Equipment Sales and Services Co., later shortened to CESSCO. In the early days CESSCO distributed and field installed process equipment that had been manufactured by Parkersburg Rig and Reel Co. of Tulsa Oklahoma.

After only a few short years CESSCO built fabrication facilities to manufacture both process equipment and large custom pressure vessels that were becoming more and more in demand. CESSCO’s manufacturing facilities were located, as they still are today, on 99 Street and 73 Avenue in Edmonton, having tripled their original size.

CESSCO’s field service division dates back to the beginning of the company. It started with the installation of process equipment and pressure vessels. As the industry grew, so did the demand for maintenance of existing equipment. Since CESSCO built them, who better to maintain them? The field services division grew over the years to offer storage tank erection, equipment installation, mechanical construction and shutdown maintenance.

Consistent through the years, CESSCO has maintained it’s reputation for Quality, Service and Capability, while tackling the most challenging jobs the industry had to offer.
